Our History
The Creation Context
In 2016, the price of a barrel of oil experienced the sharpest drop recorded in several decades, bringing the price to 15 USD (8,250 FCFA). This drop forced oil producers to review their production costs and various operating expenses.
Consequently, the prices and content of oil-related service contracts currently being executed were revised downwards. Similarly, most contracts expiring were not renewed during this period. And several tenders in preparation were simply cancelled.
Thus, companies in the oil-related sector and even industrial ones saw their respective forecasts collapse brutally over a long period.
In the CEMAC zone, specifically in Gabon and Congo Brazzaville, the integrity services market was heavily affected and mostly impacted the non-destructive testing market. This situation is explained by the repatriation of foreign specialists due to the decline in activities. Indeed, this segment which requires certification was covered by 86% of expatriates (Europeans and Asians). As for the cathodic protection market, the entire sub-region had only about twenty certified Technicians.
The Birth of KODAS INTEGRITY
KODAS INTEGRITY was therefore created in November 2016 in this context of crisis linked to a sharp drop in oil prices and aims to effectively meet market needs with a first local offer on cathodic protection.
Our Evolution
In 2018, while activity was timidly picking up, the company opened an NDT department which currently represents 65% of its turnover in 2023, notably thanks to capacity development for advanced NDT.
In 2020, while the global economy was heavily impacted by COVID-19 restrictions, the company began its internationalization policy with the opening of a subsidiary in Pointe Noire.
In 2024, the company continues its development with notably capacity increase thanks to a local content policy with its Talent Program for young graduates.
